"My daughter has strengthened and opened up her personality to be this empowering confident young person. This program has developed her in so many ways that a regular school would have not done in this short of time. She needed this to help her realize that she can have the potential and drive to overcome anything she puts her mind to do. I am so grateful that there is this kind of program out there for students and would like to see this implemented into the everyday classroom."

"The experience was an excellent one for my daughter and the year that she was in EcoJustice was one where she developed self-confidence (extremely helpful going into high school), a sense of herself, and got to use her skills and creativity in a way that she likely wouldn't have been able to in a traditional classroom setting. It is a year she (and we) will remember fondly for a long time to come. Thank you for your commitment to this program."

"Our thought regarding the Eco program: This is an exceptional opportunity to get immersed into a world of friendship, hard work and hands on learning in the environment we live in. Every single evening our boy can't wait until the next morning to go to school to learn and to see his friends and to be with the enthusiastic teachers. He saw the daily bike rides as a challenge in any kind of weather. We are grateful for such an excellent program. It is the greatest school year ever."

“By attending the EcoJustice Program it has increased the maturity level of our son plus placed more responsibility on him for the homework aspect. He has been given the opportunity to do more and different things which would not have been available to him at his prior school. By using the resources and technology around him he has learned to appreciate what we have available in our society. The EcoJustice Program has provided him with a different path of education, knowledge and appreciation of life. Working as a team as well as independent learning has broadened his horizons. Being this is his last year of elementary school the EcoJustice Program has opened his eyes and mind to see what life is really all about and how he can have fun and be learning at the same time. People always ask our son if he is liking The EcoJustice Program and his answer is always yes and he states that with a big smile. It may have been a hard decision at first, because of the friends issue, but when he walked through the doors of St. Edward School on that first day, he knew he was part of the St. Edward Family. From a family perspective he has grown in knowledge and we feel that he will do great in high school. He has learned to appreciate the things around him and value his resources that are out there. We encourage anybody out there to apply to the EcoJustice Program because it is so beneficial and it makes you look at things in different ways and appreciate what you really have in this world and gives you the opportunity to experience some of these things.”

“It was such a privilege for my son to be involved in EcoJustice – he participated and gained experience in activities we would never have been able to provide for him. Our youngest can’t wait for his turn to join!”

“I have to say that EcoJustice has been a wonderful opportunity for my son. There has been indepth research and discussion into important and current topics. The way the program is set up helps builds independent work habits. I have seen a maturing in both work habits and personal growth. The EcoJustice class works together as a team toward a common goal, and that approach allows everyone to be part of the group.”

“Hey EcoGuru's, Eco has made our son into a more complete student. The program gives the students hands on experience with real life skills (i.e.: map reading, time management ) that will serve them well in the future. The challenges presented to the students physically, spiritually, environmentally and mentally have contributed greatly to their ability to work independently and think critically. They are a confidant group that doesn't shy away from presenting their own ideas in front of their peers. Day two of Christmas break our son said to his mom, " I'm bored I wish I was back at school". There hasn't been a morning yet that he hasn't wanted to get to school. He's excited about EcoJustice and that excitement rubs off on our family. If I could I would enroll in EcoJustice. Unfortunately 50 is considered by some people to be to old for Grade 8. EcoJustice, it's the new normal.”

"Do not get discouraged I know how that feels. For years I have been sitting on the sidelines. Now I take little pockets of time.. Remember little pockets of time. I know it is not the same but it is a small window of opportunity. Implement a lunch time bike race around your close area! Jörn alys really liked your bike sessions early in the morning! I guess it was you fter all who did get him into bike riding on this level. Tanks that is great he loves it. We all are adjusting to High school!"

"... I have to say I probably miss Eco as much or more than Harper. I loved hearing and reading about the amazing things that were happening in that class. When I retire, in 43 months, rather than hang out at the coffee shop and complain about the government, taxes and kids these days, I plan on hanging out at Eco...and complain about the government, taxes and kids these days. You and Mel have been forewarned, find a way to fit me into the curriculum. ..."

"This thank you is about yesterday. I saw Tristan walk in with my journal and I asked him why he had it. When he told me the reason, I was shocked. Also, I felt honored that my work is good enough that you would use it as an example. In my old class, that never would have happened. All the praise I would get would be on my report card and occasionally during conferences. It makes me feel validated in a way. Not that I am looking for your validation but it does feel good. After that, it felt like all the hard work I have done paid off. You guys always say something about how the best are made when nobody is watching. The journal thing reminded me of that and it made me proud to know that I am a part of that. I went home and told my mom and she was so proud. I was also proud of myself. I feel so confident in myself and I am glad that I have found a way, other than music, to express myself. I don't think you know how grateful I am towards you and all of the things you have done for me and the class. You have allowed me to shine and now I feel proud and so much confident in myself. You will never know how thankful I am towards you and your program.
This is probably the 3rd thank-you email I have sent but I am just so grateful and I feel like I need to express that every opportunity I get."
